My name is Rob, I ride a 2010 FLHTCU with 70,000 miles on it. At 62,000 I swapped the 96 with a low mileage 103... very happy with it.
During my searches on Ebay, I noticed alot of motors had damage to the oil filter housing... some actually snapped off and missing.
here comes the question ... is that damage repairable?

Was the damage to the right side case where the oil filter is attached, to the oil filter, or to the oil cooler adapter that bolts to the oil filter mount on the case...?
A new right side case is like $1800...
Obviously, if the case is damaged, but all else is good... it's worth something... If the price is right, you could get a bunch of "good" parts off it....
I'll be interested to see what people say about parting out an engine with a broken case, and what it's worth...
