Default 2014 flhtk codes

On my way into work this morning i had the cel and temp lights come on today. I have code p1019 and b1213. When i got to work the fans come on doing the test so im told that means the pump is working. Since the b1213 code is a cluster code would that point towards the temp sensor being bad? The water pump is original and i know they have problems, but i dont want to just replace the pump to find out its the sensor or vice versa.

Thanks for the help

In my experience there is little doubt you need the coolant pump upgrade. It’s a matter of when, not if. You’re looking at 2.5 hours labour plus about $600 parts. Just had mine done.

I too just replaced my coolant pump about 2 weeks ago. As a previous poster wrote, the kit is about $600 and the 2 hrs labor (at my dealership) was $150/hr...so all in it was just under a grand. That's the only issue I've had since new in 2015 so as they say "sh-t happens".

Ya i just checked the rads a few hrs ago while it was hot and its just blowing around ambient air. i just picked up a water pump but im installing myself. This is the most expensive water pump ive ever bought, by a bunch.

I just finished doing the water pump. I fired it up until the fans cycled a few times and they were blowing hot air with no lights on the dash. The kit and instructions are pretty ok but the solution for where the plugs go is pretty much garbage though. If anyone has a better solution than just leaving them lay under the cover id like to see a pic or two.

Thanks

I hear you, there is way too much wiring. Seems all one can do is hold it all together while jamming the cover back on. I think I have one zip tie in there. Good job doing it yourself.

unfortunately thats about what i did too. I threw an extra zip tie on to kind of hold it in place and tossed the cover on. i think the hardest part was getting the lowers apart.

The good part is you'll likely never have to think about it again. I did the same with my wiring, zip tied it out of the way as best I could and jammed the cover back on.
