So looking at getting a new bike. Probably going to trade in as the market seems soft on bikes in my area. My question is it it worth stripping all the extras of the bike. Got a few things like pipes lowered seat. Few other extras. I have always been told the trade in value is not affected by extras. Anyone have any experience please chime in.
thanks

If the extras will fit and you want to use them on the new bike, go ahead and take them off. If not, you won't get anything for them on the trade or if you take them off and try to sell them.

When I traded my 2013 Street Glide in for the 2021 Street Glide, I removed those "comfort" items that I knew would move to the new bike and that I wanted. As stated above, add on's usually do not help or add to a price.

I'd put it back as close to stock as you can. Even if you can't use all the parts on the new bike, you can sell them and at least get something for them. I've kept every part I've swapped out just for that reason. Someday I will want to trade in on a new(er) bike.

Agree, dealer could care squat about the expensive add ons. If you can remove them, do so and reuse or sell them. at least you get something for them.
