Cool Rich and Lean?

2016 Road Glide. 103
The pictures are of the pipes. As you can see, they are very different from each other. Is one cylinder lean and the other one rich? Is this common? Is it a problem? Should I be concerned?
Any information would be appreciated.

I am not either.

Is it something to do with the cross over? If you notice one has more exhaust coming out? One side has cat? But how do plugs look? If you really want to know put a new set in. But I am just throwing stuff out there. I really didn't look at the pics that hard

100% normal. Right side pipe get's the majority of exhaust flow thus the difference in color. Factory setup is 2-1-2, meaning, starts out as 2 pipes (front and rear cylinders) combines in to 1 pipe (near your transmission) then splits in to 2 pipes (your mufflers). The right side is essentially a straight shot out where the left side crosses over under the bike via a couple 90deg bends.

No concerns. As mentioned that's normal. My '13 King is completely stock and my pipes look the same.

My 2023 RKS does the same thing. The left muffler is cleaner than the right. I chalk it up to the right one is a straight shot from the head pipe. Also, the right connection is bigger that the left one.

Start it outside on a cold morning and you'll see why. It's easy enough for the majority of the exhaust gasses to escape through the right side unless you're really laying into the throttle. The gasses have to work harder to get through the crossover, so they prefer not to.

You can completely block the left exhaust yourself, 2 into 1

I wonder if anyone has tested this on a dyno?
