I completely rebuilt my RK and in doing so i replaced the gas tank and removed the chrome dash. I want to install a single gauge with chrome housing on top of the handle bar clamp. I know I will have to modify the chrome cover. Has anyone seen this done before? I will also relocate the ignition switch.

my bike is a 1996 FLHR, I am installing a replacement gas tank that will not accommodate the original dash and speedometer. I want to purchase an after market stand alone speedometer with tachometer and trouble lights, etc. I want the housing for gauge to mount to the handlebar clamp.
