It's not the battery like I initially thought. Have a new yuasa 500cca and tests good. Ignition on shows slightly over 12v. Yesterday about 50-55 degrees and it barely started on the first try.
2021 roadglide limited with 22k miles. Does this sound like the starter to you guys? About to let dealer check it.
with a charger or maintainer. low 12s sound low for a new fully charged battery. put a meter on it while cranking and see what the voltage is.
when I got the battery I checked with digital voltmeter, showed 12.5. Shop that installed it with new tires put on charger to top it off. Thus was a month ago.
Last battery was the same brand and CCA and I changed after 1 year because of same symptoms in 50 degree weather. Obviously it was not the battery.
Pretty damn sure it's not the battery again.
im retired and treated myself to this bike and servuce contract so i dont have to do anything on it myself. Time to be lazy.
couldn't it be the contacts to starter, or starter itself?
Is it a big deal to have that checked with a horrible cost?
Just because it read 12.5 volts doesn't mean it had a good charge. A battery can have a dead cell and still read 12.5 volts. If you trust that your shop did in fact fully charge it, great. I wouldn't. A brand new, fully charged battery, at rest, should be at nearly 13 volts. Good luck.
