Currently working on a 2005 road king (fuel injected) I am in need of a whole fuel sending unit and the guts. Ronnie's doesn't have one, neither does the local HD dealer. The oem part # 75127-02c. I've found one that looks identical 75127-00a for a 2000-2001. Can someone explain the difference in the 2. I though road king used the same style tanks till 09.

I can't answer your question specifically.... However, according to the Harley-Davidson OEM Service Parts finder, the #75127-02C assembly was the replacement part for the #75127-00A when it first went obsolete.
Of course, now the #75127-02C is "Not available". I would think the fact that it was listed as a replacement for the "-00A" for awhile suggests they are either interchangeable, or require few mods to be interchangeable.
Here is the 2005 tank guts showing assembly #75127-02C:

Good luck with your repair.

Thanks for the help. I guess harley thinks noone has older bikes to work on., they don't even have fuel tanks anymore. Took about 6 months to find one not beat to hell.

It's part of their marketing strategy.... If you can't fix it, you'll just buy a new one!
They have been making replacement parts on older bikes obsolete at an increased pace these last few years.
Luckily, for many things, the aftermarket has stepped up.
Unfortunately, some things like the TSM/TSSM modules, we need to go to the used part market and hope to get a good one...
