Default 2021 Ultra exhaust question

So I had a full system installed by Harley some time ago. I recently purchased another exhaust because the shorty 2 into 1 was too loud for long trips. Well to my surprise I noticed the front heat shield burning the part next to it. Is this normal? ( I know its not "normal" but is it a big deal) Or should I replace this part?

Looks to me like contact was made from that cable to the heat shield. No, it's NOT a big deal......unless you're fond of getting stranded because important wires got burned. I'd be looking for a way to relocate those wires away from the heat.shield. ASAP. The wires shouldn't have ever been that close to the exhaust in the first place. IMO, either that shop did it wrong or something happened to allow that contact since the install. Gonna have to address that burn on the insulation to protect the wiring from further damage. There are ways short of replacing it, but replacing is the best bet for longevity.

Likely not something to ignore, to avoid the dreaded one way ride you could consider managing that radiant heat.

Moving those wires would be a given but to address how hot the exhaust is getting, wrapping them may be worth looking into.

We use Titanium Wrap for 50% heat reduction in radiant heat and a bump in performance.

Ride Safe, Ride Free.

I don't believe those are exposed wires. I believe that is the black (plastic?) sleeve that covers the yellow plastic clutch cable adjuster. Your clutch cable appears to be routed correctly (clipped to the right downtube). I suspect it melted due to excessive idling without airflow. Under normal operating conditions, it shouldn't melt.

Unfortunately, the sleeve (red arrows) isn't available separately.

A proper repair would require replacing the upper clutch cable assembly (#17).

Poor install work. Some after market exhaust do not fit as well as the should either.
