Default Oil change 2008 electra glide

Ok I have seen the videos and the various chats on this subject but i really need to know the scoop on where these plugs are to do a proper oil change on this bike ? I am not ready yet but because I just purchased this "bagger" coming off a softail there is and has been a world of difference in the mechanics . SO that being said can someone either post a pic of the plugs or post a reply as to the location of them ? So confused

The primary is the same as your softail. The drain plug is on the inner primary cover at the rear.

Between this illustration and the blurry pic (I captured it from a video online), you should be able to find your trans oil drain and your engine oil drain.

I have an 08 EG it has 88,000 miles I run syn 3 in motor and primary and hd heavy in transmission , primary takes 38 ounces not the 32 the dealer will tell you . The fuel filter was a factory recall , the fairing mounting brackets will crack , harley re engineered them for replacement , and if you have abs the wires between the neck and tank will break and need to be made longer GOOD LUCK Great bike any issues e-mail me

Trans and primary fuid fills, bike straight up on bike ramp or jack.
Motor oil level, with bike on Jiffy stand, and only fill the oil up to the half way point on the dip stick between the full mark, and the fill mark, after you have run the motor for about a min, then shut the motor back down. Oil to the full mark on dip stick, tend to just push more oil out of the breathers.

On primary, fill the fluid to this level,

On the trans dip stick, you need to angle the top inwards towards the motor, and aim the tip of the dip stick towards the outer case. The reason, the clutch cable has to pass on the inside of the dip stick tip. If you install the tip of dip stick towards the motor, your going to fish the tip to the motor side of the clutch cable, and will never get the dip stick to thread in correctly.

As for motor oil, pretty much standard with oil changes every 5K, or every year, what ever comes first.
I bring this up, since some tend to run spendy motor oil that is designed for 14K oil changes, and if your running such, but changing the oil out every 5K, then lets just way wasting a lot of money.

Myself, use supertech oil from walmart, and if you understand that is made by Warren Petroleum, and is just as good as other oils for 5K mile changes, will understand your not wasting a lot of money fancies to begin with. For twin cam, synthetic, 20-50 for motor oil,10-40 oil for primary, and then 75-90 gear lube for trans.
Also to note, on the trans fluid with 75-90 gear lube, only need to change the Tran fluid about every third fluid changes of the motor and primary, and not every three hole change isntead. Simply put, with KN oil filter that is easy to get off since you can use a socket, and the above fluids total cost of three hole oil change should be less than $40, verse what some are paying for just a quart of some fluids isntead.

I have no idea what year Softail the OP has. I believe EVO Softails have the primary drain on the outer primary cover.

Primary and tranny level vary by years. Check your manual.

I run engine half quart low cold

On kickstand engine is low,the easy one. Tranny is high and I stand bike up for a bit at the end.

Since new double check levels when done.

You are correct....

I just looked it up, and it IS on the outside primary cover for an EVO...

But I thought I was responding to a question about a 2008 Electra Glide, which would be a Twin Cam touring bike (A-Engine)...

Did I get messed up on which thread I was responding to...?

You said the primary drain on his 2008 Electra Glide is on the same side (inner primary cover) as his Softail. If you don't know the year of his Softail, how could you make that assumption?
