The harley site said the fangs would not fit my 2012 ultra. I ordered a set for a same year Road King since the mounting bolts would be the same.. Harley is WRONG! They fit up just fine and dramatically reduced the buffeting.
Maybe thats why I thought they wouldnt fit my bike. Im going by the local Harley dealer in a few minutes to order an extra set of keys. Ill check on the fangs while Im there.

Might give another thought to using fangs with lowers. You and the bike will run really hot above 75*. BTDT....
A couple of you have mentioned Shoei helmets. On Cycle Gear the Neotecs start at $900 then add a Cardo or Sena and you are well over $1000! Is it really going to be an $800+ improvement over my current helmets?
Like I stated earlier, when I spend money like that on a mod, Im almost always disappointed in the results.
Do you have the Cardo or Sena now? If so, you can move it to the new helmet.
A properly fitted helmet is comfortable to wear, after the first 100-200 miles. Similar to breaking in new boots. So is a properly fitted comfortable helmet worth it?
I use the Madstad windshield system to relieve the buffeting on my 2019 FLHTP. I have the police set that sits me 3 inches over the stock ElectraGlide seat, and I am very tall. No other windshields provided the relief I got with Madstad shields https://madstad.com/collections/batw...-glide-2014-up
I have found that fork fangs really work to reduce buffeting.
I was ready to get rid of my `19 Electra Glide Standard not long after I bought it (new) because of the buffeting, but I found a set of fangs here on the forum and I decided to give them a shot.
+1 for the Harley fork fangs on pre Rushmore glides. I ran them with the dog dish under the triple tree with a 12" Long Ride Shields recurve. No buffeting at all. I have to admit though once April hit I had to ditch the fangs and dog dish, got too dang hot. The LRS recurve helped enough by itself though that buffeting wasn't too bad.
The Cooling Deflector Wings work to reduce the air coming over the top of the tank, around the sides of the tank, and between the upper & lower fairings.
This results in reduced buffeting/helmet & glasses bobble, with the added benefit of some heat reduction.
Ok, thanks for all the replies. Im in the dealership parking lot. I got buffeted pretty good on the way up. It is a little breezing here today which makes it worse.
Anyway I hold my hand out over the tank, in front of the tank, under my chin around the sides of my helmet. The only place I really feel much turbulence is directly on top of my head/helmet. In face when I hold my hand up right in front or on top of my helmet it blocks the wind and eases the turbulence significantly. The only other thing that works is my duck down some and lean forward.
Would the fangs help with this?
I may just have to get a taller shield and simply sit behind it. 🤷♂️

Good job troubleshooting. When I found the buffeting at the top of my head a different windshield helped a bit. If you already have one as tall as you can stand maybe try one with a better recurve. I have run Long Ride Shields recurve units on my last two bikes and like them. On my 23 Ultra I run a 10" recurve in the summer and in cooler weather run a 12" recurve to keep a little more wind away from my head.
On the subject of helmets though for some weird reason I get more buffeting when using a full face helmet than when running a 3/4 or 1/2 helmet. Might have something to do with my height dunno.
