I just got a new 2024 ultra limited. I am happy with the performance and honestly with the sound too, but I dont really like the looks of the stock mufflers. Has anyone put slip ons on their 2024 ultra limited without changing exhaust or fuel management? I know some people say not to do that, but I am just wanting to know from someone who has actually done it.
YES, about 8 yrs ago I replaced the stock mufflers on my 2015 Ultra Limited with the HD Street Canons and I'm very happy with them. They look like the stock muffs but have a nicer sound (IMHO). Throaty when you "twist your wrist hard" but not obnoxious when riding or idling.
No special tune needed....basically "plug and play"...or should I say "just slip-on and ride!".
You should give them a look and considerations. (some might be found in the classified section as "take offs")

I changed just the slip-ons on my '16 UC with no tune and I believe the M8's are even more adaptable without a tune.
Be cautious of your warranty though!
I have lost count of the mufflers and exhaust systems I've run over the years. Any time you put a less restrictive muffler in play vs. stock you would benefit from a basic canned tune at least. Do you NEED to tune? No, but the bike will run better if you do. For a basic tune the new Harley Screamin Eagle bluetooth tuner would do the trick and maintain your warranty. I'd be tempted to just leave the stock air cleaner in place and just change the mufflers to a set you like and apply the basic stage one tune. If you wanted you could do some auto tune runs to fine tune it or even do like I did and get the cable to plug your bike up to a PC do manually adjust the VE tables for a little more get up and go.
As far as what type of muffler the sky is the limit. Typically the louder they are the more power you will lose without a tune. I have found that really loud mufflers cost you some low end torque because of exhaust inversion. The Screamin Eagle mufflers have the advantage of swappable end caps so you can make them look however you want. They also have baffles designed to work with stock and mild tunes. I personally like the look of the stock mufflers but I understand everyone likes different stuff. Due to how my 23 Ultra Limited runs with the SE 447 cam I settled on a set of Fuel Moto Jackpot mufflers. They aren't too loud and seem to play nice at the lower RPMs with a fairly basic tune.
Here is the page for the various Fuel Moto mufflers: Jackpot Exhaust
One thing I like about the Fuel Moto mufflers is they have easily swappable baffles if you want to do some tuning to make them sound or run different. I kept the baffles they shipped with and find that they bark pretty good when accelerating but don't sound too loud on the highway when the cruise control is set. I've had several sets of mufflers over the years that I ditched because they were too loud on the highway even when I wasn't accelerating.
I put Khrome Werks mufflers on my previous ‘23 Ultra-Limited and on my current ‘24 Street Glide without a tuner and couldn’t tell any difference from the stock mufflers. Khrome Werks can be ordered with a variety of tip styles to choose from.

Out of curiosity which baffles did you get with those Chrome Works mufflers?
