I rode the bike up to Detroit for aconferenceand they still drive the same way here. Not just careless, but it seemsa lot of drivers with the larger SUVstry to intimidate others. They drive close enough behind me on the freeways that I can hear the radiator fan running, and I'm not even in the far left lane. They are to close to see the slow down hand signal. A glance over the shoulder at the driver seems to work somewhat.

The post about the windshield washers starting me thinking....

About carrying a squeeze bottle (Harley even makes a water bottle and holster tofasten to the rear crash bar) full of 20/50 Syn III, or your choice of oil? Not only would we have an emergency supply of oil, but a good squeeze up into the air should coat their windshield nicely......

Just get out of the way. When he's in a car or truck and you're on a bike, it's just not worth it.

You don't have to look far to find the all too frequent incidents of road rage against bikers. Here's the scoop: when that hot-headed moron in the pickup loses it and decides to ram the bike, the bike loses every time.

It's just not worth it.

Exactly....just because he has messed up your ride don't let him mess up your life.

You guys don't understand....most of these a$$holes are driving and not even paying attention to what they are doing. They tailgate each other all the time and think nothing of tailgating you. Weaving in my lane tends to back most of them off and the ones that don't, I slowly back off the throttle to very slowly decrease my speed and that usually gets rid of the rest of them.

Now, occasionally you will have the fine outstanding citizen that is doing it just because he/she can and they want to mess with ya....two choices here....run/avoid or give them what they want and be prepared for the consequences.

Me, I like my freedom and have already decided that if I ever go to prison, I probably will not survive for very long as I don't like someone messing with me or trying to own me...in that environment you die or take someone out.

So, my choice is to avoid the best I can and if that don't work....stop and let them pursue other prey or come at me without the advantage of a multi-ton vehicle..making it easy for them to use the vehicle will allow them to walk away with a slap on the hand. If you stop off the road and they come at you, you have a defense of that you were in fear of your life. This is all predicated that you don't throw things at them, provoke them by using sign language, etc.

Bottom line is a lot of folks on the road have forgotten that the road belongs to us all and we must share....i.e. curtesy.

Pull over, let them pass.
How about the 1's that drive right up your a__ then turn down a street or driveway? This is very popular here in the East.
Just played some kind of highway game on Route 78 in PA. with 3 trucks.truck in front slows down, truck in right lane same speed and the 1 in the back right on rear of bike blowing his air horn. I figured they must to had a problem with a biker? Or just smartA__.

Usa clear marbles. They shatter and can't be sorted out from windshield glass.

I usually lift my jacket up in the back so they see my 9mm sticking out of the back of my pants.
