Default Ran it hard

07 Road King purchased 10 months ago, service it back in Nov 3 holes. Rode hard for the very first time real hard 80-90 miles an hour for about and hour 90 miles approximately. Rode the next day from a stop felt like slippage 1st and 2nd gear, when I eased on out no problem, noises when slipping. Any help would be appreciated. last four days had it parked away from where I garage it.

Have you properly adjusted the clutch? Not just the cable adjuster, but did you open the primary cover, back off the lock nut, bottom it out...etc????

Yep, would check clutch basket adjuster, since as friction disc plates wear, the 1/2 turn gap in that adjuster becomes smaller.

Also, if you bought the bike used, not a bad idea to pull primary cover and even pull clutch, to give all that a once over check as well.
Hence friction pads may be fine with life left, but bike was used in a lot of stop and go, or parade type use, were the its not the friction plate that become worn, but steel plate are over heated to cause them to be case hardened, and the harder they get, the less grab they have to the friction discs.

So easy to just mic the friction discs to get an idea of what they have left on them, and as for steel plates, light hint of heat is not bad and media blasting may be able to make them right as rain again,

but if clutch steel discs are dark blue to really case harden them like this,

then they need to be replaced. Hence the harder the plates are hardened, the more is like the friction plates are trying to get friction against ice instead.

As for bike level, primary fluid should only be to here,

Not enough fluid, and the fluid is not slung enough to wash the clutch back down to cause the over heat problems, while fluid too high, cause fluid friction problems between plates with clean release/hard to find neutral instead.

Thank you Dano523 for the information you sent. The video and the explanation, thru the years worked in cars since early 70’ s, I should be able to do this. My younger brother just bought a motorcycle lift and we’re gonna break it in with my adjustment. The only other thing I did was change throttle up cable. This is valuable information here thank you very much.
Internet trol thank you for your question, someone said adjustment something said to me not at cable Gid bless.. Will inform once I’m at brothers again.
