I'm think about putting some heat rap on the inside of my heat shields. I saw this on a set for sale in the market place, looks like they were glued on, looked like a good idea. So anyone have what kind of glue to use?????
As said above, they have cutouts for running your hose clamps through them. Ive been thinking about picking up this kit, but Ive heard installation is a real PITA
Simple to install, need a pic or tiny screwdriver to catch the chose camps as you shove them through the recesses and the insulation catches on the ends. You need to guide the clam ends to stay above the insulation as soon as it pops out of the little underpass it goes through. Some super simple but the one on the front of the collector shield was a bitch due to the curvature not being a simple circle, but more of an squared off oval. These things made a huge difference on my bike. Only felt heat now is the rear cylinder, and I toast my calf on the primary at stops some times. ymmv
Disclaimer, they went on at the same time as a FM tune and the CAT ran off somewhere. (I think I heard it in the trash can...)
Had mine tuned and decatted about a month ago and yes it made a big difference. I ordered the heat shield liner kit from Amazon, and currently my slip ons and shields are at the ceramic paint shop. I am hoping to get them back this coming week, and Ill report my findings when I get em installed
