Has anyone tried Metzeler me888 front tyre with Avon cobra chrome rear on a touring model?
I was thinking about it, and have read that the combo is a good one, but I cant find a 1st hand opinion
I have an AE on front and standard Harley Dunlop on rear, RGS no issues. I ran mettzlers on my dyna WG and loved them. RK I had paired Dunlops.
I can say for me the AE is noisy if thats the right word. Took me a minute to realize nothing is wrong, tire just gives more feedback than I expected. The newer Dunlops, IMO wear so much more. I get a lot of mileage. Dont track to the T but I am 45k plus and only on 2nd set of tires changed first set as I was riding with the boys during bike week. Only time we ride stupid. Otherwise we ride long trips. Tires look great now coming off an approximate 4k mile mountain ride.
Those of us who run non-standard rear tires can run any brand on the front without issues, so you should be fine. The 'don't mix' thing is more for same-axle tires on cars.
