I have a 2004 road king and just newly installed some straight pipe fishtails. Love the sound but the bike doesn’t like em. Under low idle 10-30 mph. It spits and sputters. The straight pipes don’t have enough back pressure. My question is What is the cheapest and easiest way to fix this? Not sure if a $500 tuner will fix this issue. Any ideas. Thank you.

You never want back pressure, or restriction.. that’s a misguided myth. You want to brake up reversion. The bolt trick AKA TTI’s, AKA Lollipops do a pretty good job of restoring most of that dip. Opening up the tails helps too.

Bolt trick ? I’ve welded a small washer inside of other pipes and seemed to work as well, but what is TTi’s or lollipops ?
