I need a little input from you touring guys. I have a 2020 Ultra Limited and I purchased through amazon a set of small flags (American and POW/MIA) Of course when I installed them, I used red loctite. However, they still come loose at the base. I may try some thread tape next.
I guess my question is, is what have you guys used to alleviate this issue? Or maybe there is a set out there that has set screws to the flagpole into the base?
Had a nice ride yesterday btw... 45 in the morning and 70 degrees in the afternoon. I have been jonesing for a ride for some time. Be safe out there.
You don't say what brand or style of flag pole/attachment you have or where your attach point is. I have one mounted to my trunk's luggage rack bars and it DOESN'T move at all.
There are mounts and there are mounts....there are plenty of flag mounts available and good ones (along with their poles) aren't cheap ($40 to $60+).........but, as is often the case "you get what you pay for".
BUT you should need to use any color "lock-tite" to secure it if it's a quality mount.

My apologies. They are mounted on the rear luggage rack bars. They are a E-Most product I got off of Amazon. $39.99 (I get the you get what you pay for thing).
I bought one from here for my 2016 Ultra in 2018 and never had a problem. the other ones, including Harley's own, came off at highway speeds.
I don't know if they sell POW/MIA flags, just American Flags
Amazon also sells this brand

Thanks for the input, guys. I am going to drill it and put a bolt through the pole. I have seen tons on the interweb but was curious if someone had found a set that the pole does not unscrew at highway speeds. Should be an easy fix. It's oil change time anyway. May as well add that to the list.
