Hand adjustable shocks

So I purchased some lightly used hand adjustable shocks. Installed them today but the know was hitting the bag and couldn't attach it. I initially used a 3/8" nut and washer to space out the the bag but it didn't sit well. So I decided to remove the ****. Bad idea? A spring fell out and I heard a noise by the exhaust pipe. No clicks when adjustments are made now. But not bothered. Will the shocks lose the guts? What did I lose? Wanted better but had to purchase all new rotors and pads. Better than the air shocks that were puking oil in the air lines.

Chances are you lost a small ball bearing and spring that holds the **** in place. No the shock won't leak with those parts missing.

I replaced adjustment ****(cracked)once ordered the new **** was part#54677-10. The kit came with a one small spring & one small ball bearing plus a new center screw & washer.
