Shouldn't be a cartridge in that bike. Since 06 they have used the non cartridge fork in the fairing baggers. Road kings had the non cartridge forks all along. Only fairing bikes had the cartridge from 02-05
You have a brand new bike, please tell me why you would like to change the fork oil? It's really not as much fun as you might think!
I traded in a Buell Ulysses for my SG. On the local mountain 2 lane highways the SG front end is harsh over the tar snakes and cracked pavement. I'd like to try a premium synthetic fork oil to see if it helps.
I'm not sure whats in the forks now but most manufacturers tend to go with the low bidder on fork components.
I could be wrong but I wouldn't think changing the fork oil would make any noticable change in the wayfront end feels. I would think that changing the springs in combination of oilwould be the only way you get a noticable improvement. On my last bike (Honda VTX) changing over to Progressive springs made a huge difference in every way the bike felt in the front end.
Nope, Just 2K but it's only 9 days old and it's been raining a lot!
I guess the Buell spoiled me for suspensions. It would soak up any thing on pavement. The sport bikes would have to slow down in the rough corners while the Ulysses would plow on through and keep its line.
The SG is MUCH more comfortable that the Uly but I'd like to refine the way it handles small bumps and imperfections in the pavement.
