Brake lights stuck on and I just noticed after installing new ohlins rear shocks. I have a flashing strobe tail light and a module with leads that go to my saddle bag lights. I removed that completely yo eliminate that. Light was real bright anyway but now its blinding so im assuming its stuck on. Any ideas on how to get this fixed. Was planning a first ride tomorrow.
I just tried it out down the street and cruise is available. This is an aftermarket light though. Maybe they brake light isn't working after all and it just the running light.
How are the tail light leads connected to the bike? Is there a chance the brake light is being powered by the bike's running light wire? If your cruise is working, the brake light circuit is not activated.
So turns out that they were not stuck on, just that the LED tail light is really bright and looked that way, even with some LED's burnt out. I checked all the switched and then when I had help I took my meter and went to the tail light and had them operate both brakes, power on the orange wire which is the running light and it was working, and then 12v yo the brake light when the brakes were used, issue isn't the bike side. Its the light.
I took it off and hooked it up to a 12V power supply and it was on and the brake function worked when switched, weird. Back yo test the bike and all still good. Reinstalled the light and it worked, out fir a ride and stopped to check it, same issue, not working again. Checked bike power and its all good. Light must be the issue. New one ordered.
