Default throttle sensor pics and dimensions

Here are some pics of the throttle sensor for when I plan on adapting aftermarket bars for my 08. There are three slots cut into the bar. The two on the front and back of the bar measure 3/8" wide x 1/4" deep and the litttle one on top measures 3/16" wide and 1/4" deep. These will be easy to cut into my new bars and all cables have enough slack under the fairing except I have to check on the clutch cable or replace it with the +3 cable, but that's no big deal.

Dang. Brand, spanking new '08, and already talking about "slicing and dicing".

Blows my mind. Why would anybody want to do THAT?

There ain't no "slicing and dicing" per se, everything will match up fine. The only thing that needs slicing is the new aftermarket handlebar needs some notches cut into it.

I just ordered the Khromewerks 300505 FLHT sweeper bars like I had on my 04. They do the same as the Wild Ones 575 bagger bars, but are only $64 compared to $200!

The instruction sheets for the various HD 08 theme grips advise to gently tug on the grip to release it from the spline. I did just that and it came right off. I even figg'rd out that I can cut the rubber off and mate a set of Kury ISO grips to it. It is kind of like using the old style sleeves. My bars should be here by the end of the week and I'm going to pick me up a set of ISO grips and I'll be all set I'll post the final pics when done.

Hey Dawg, you going to change the seat? I'm thinking with those bars, it'll be like sitting on a couch with a pillow stuck behind you, I rode an 08 classic
and the dang seat pushed me to far forward... On my 07 SG I'm using the HD reach bars, and makes for a good combo, no longer feel like I,m riding a ten speed bike. Good Luck, Congrads on the new bike...
