Privacy Reset
My problem has to do with GPS waypoints. For some strange reason when you delete a route from the system, it saves and stores the waypoints. it did it with my 2014 ultra too. Research at the time showed that there were a maximum number of waypoints that could be stored in the system, 60, or 100, (I forget) and when that limit was reached, waypoints could no longer be used. The only way to clear the waypoints from the system was to perform a PRIVACY RESET (not a full factory reset that changed 100% of settings back to factory). The Privacy Reset was to be used to clear only personal information from the system as if you were selling the bike; i.e., text message, contact lists, GPS destinations.
Now my current 2024 GPD is doing the same thing and hard as I try, I can't find any instruction to perform a Privacy Reset or how to get into the service mode.
Can anyone help? I just need to clear ghost waypoints from my system, NOT from a running route. All routes have been stopped and deleted.
Thanks
A privacy reset can be performed by the dealer to remove all personal information from the radio memory. This can be useful when selling the motorcycle or when completely reconfiguring the radio with new personal settings. The reset will remove information and history from the radio such as phone pairing, downloaded phone books, call history, navigation history, favorites and presets. A privacy reset does not affect other basic settings like the clock or audio configuration. See an authorized Harley-Davidson dealer to have this service performed.
