Default RE: Those fairing Wings?

I love them on my 08 Ultra. So much I am on my second pair now. Both sides have broken once........ go figure. Replaced under warranty (kinda, they said, "we aren't sure if these are covered under warranty" , I already had the part in my hard, walked away from the service desk, and said "call the cops if you think they aren't, later, see you next weekend") and the new ones seem to be holding up fine. Both broke in the same place, the top section of plastic that holds the tension to keep them in a certain angle when opened. Just snapped clean at that spot. Oddly enough, it was just a tick over 40 degrees on the two days that they broke when I attempted to adjust them.

I got mine from ebay, I dit the solid smoke ones. I also bought a pair of vinyl lowers that snap on and I love them. You can ride after Hell freezes over and be comfortable riding.
ride safe

got the Kuryanky Dragon Wings on my '07 Ultra, and they fit into the existing holes. Definately notice a difference, and even the wife riding on the back can tell the difference. Much better than the stock non-adjustable wings.

Yea, the new ones. http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US

Like the Freedom wings but look a little cleaner to me.
These supposedly only fit '08's. I wonder what would make them unusable for earlier models. I need to look at a set to find out.
P/N 57804-07A 1996-later Electra Glide & Street Glide models. Note: This is a different part number than the 08's.

I put the new ones on my '08 and they really work in the summer heat.

I wonder if there is a subtle change in the batwing because of the larger tank?

They will fit the pre 08 models. Had them on my 06 for a week but changed my mind about wanting the adjustable. I had the non adjustable on my bike and liked them just fine. Figured I would never adjust theses so why pay the extra cost for them. Although they do look good. My non adjustable pre 08 wings
had three mounting holes,. thease new 08 adjustables have an extra fourth hole at the top. Thefirst three holes of the new wings line up just like my old wings did. The fourth extra hole will not line up with anything on my 06. So there was just an extra hole to mount the wings, with nothing to mount to on the older bike. It was not a problem of any sort, no extra vibration or anything. The new wings were the same length as my old ones and the old ones only had three mounting holes. Like I said they look good, worked good, just decided it wasn't worth the cost to me.

OK... everybody with the adjustable ones, how do you use them? Do you open them in the summer and close them in the winter? Or is it to adjust and make the air flow around you better? I didn't know if I wanted to get me some and if so which ones?

It's also a different part altogether. I saw the stock '08 wings on an Ultra and liked their appearance and functionality. I'll be at the HD shop tomorrow and I'll look at a set if they have any, and try to determine why they won't fit earlier bikes.
