Right in the middle of a tight slow full lockU turn that I've made a thousand times. Know why?? I didn't either but figured it out right after it. My freakin clutch is out of adjustment and is grabbing wayyyyyy late. So where it would have usually grabbed and pulled me foward through the turnit didn't and over we went. It happens pretty quick but I still managed to sort of easy drop it on the left crash bar and guess what. Not a scratch anywhere thatI can see.No fairingdamage just had to adjust 1 mirrior a wee bit.I rode about 200+ miles yesterday and I felt it being a little towards the end of the lever butmoreso than usual, but its been like that for about 2500 miles now but of course as wear occurrs I should've adjusted it. I had only been out about 5 minutes and it was my first slow speed manuever of the day. Idefinetely felt the clutch being out of adjustment the rest of the night though, feels almost as $hitty as our Police bikes like this-gotta adjust it tomorrow...Eh no biggie....... Started right up and rode off. I did have to retune the radio station though.
Thanks. Me too. I had a little butthole pucker because lets face it no one wants to drop these bikes. Next is the "is someone going to come barreling down the road and hit me while I'mdownfactor". I'm a pretty big guy but if I have to" BrotherI can move" let the bike get waffled what the hell doI care its insured. Tomorrow I'll wash it and adjust the clutch and make nice to it.
Hey, don't feel bad, I dumped mine on Tuesday!! I felt like a real tool! But, I had about 20 post from others who have done the same thing. Your among friends here. Just thank god that no one got hurt. Dust it off and go ride. That's what I did.
Yeah, absolutely. I just remember dumping the bikes at work during training excersisesand thinking "Whew I'll never do this to MY bike". I reallydon't care. Im fine and the bike is too. I do slip my clutch while riding the rear brake (friction zone)during slow speedoften full lockmanuevers. I do it once a day because if you don't its a skill you'll eventually lose.
Just goes to show all of us that we can never take it for granted! These bikes ride great, but damn they're heavy. Doesn't take much to go over if something gets out of whack. Glad you had no damage! Now if I can just keep from doing it again . . . . .
