Default Installed Clearview

2007 RG. Went with the Large windshield which is +2 inches taller than stock. Not sure I like it as the top edge of the shield is almost at my eye level which isn't real comfortable for looking over the top of the windshield. The stock was a good height yet I was getting buffeting at eye and helmet level. I'm 6'1' - 33 inseam so all calculations indicated the Large shield (mine as well as clearviews).

If I return can I reuse the rubber well nuts from the stock shield to reinstall the stock one or should I buy new?. They didn't look like they were in great shape after removal.

Also if I step down an inch or two on the Clearview will it eliminate the buffeting because of the recurve - maybe that's where I made my mistake

Somewhat disappointed after waiting 8 weeks. Also the winshieldd bumps against the mirror stems when turned all the way right or left.

Thanks for the help........

I am 6'1' and went with the clearview that is 2' shorter than stock but got the optional recurve, on my '07 RKC. It is perfect for my ridestance and have the same or better wind protection than the taller stock windshield ,but got the top of the windshield out of my line of sight. Also the thicker material used for construction of the clearview eliminated the vibration I had with the stock windshield.I am very pleased with this product, but I think it is like Exhaust systems and everyone taste is different, and opinions vary on what's best.

Do you have an air baffle installed? That helped my eye level buffetting on my SG tremendously. Now I run an 8 inch Fastaire I see over easily with no issues. I get a little on windy days depending on direction. Try the air baffle if you don't have one. I was surprised by the improvement. It is cheap at $22 from the dealer.

I'm 6'2" and went with the large also, same thing but just not as bad, fine on solo riding, but when my wife rode I got the line you were talking about, I picked up an Ultra Classic seat super cheap, and it worked wonders for me windshield's perfect now! Wife loves the rear too!
