I just found out the other day as I went and bought some touch up paint for my street glide, that there is a coat of clear that goes over it. Yeah i tripped out out. I had a street bob in black denim and then I went out and got this. Its great to clean....windex and wipe. Sure theres no shine. But no glitter no glamour.
There are two killer denim SG's on this forum. Bobberino has one of them as you can see. The other slips my mind (XXX Racing?). I think they look killer. I've been debating about painting mine in matte black and adding some subtle red striping.
I think it rocks, I've liked every denim bike I've seen so far. But then I am in to the no bling blacked out look etc... should be easy to take care of, go for it.
i have the denim blue. seems to have darkened a bit with a little sheen over the last year. there is a clearcoat, so durability is the same as gloss. i've almost finished dechroming it, replacing with a satin black powder coat (pipes too). not everyone's favorite, but then again i bought it for me.
Thanks Biggzed. Your RG is clean too, as Ive told you reminds me soo much of my Bobber. You painting matte black with some striping I think would look killer. I know easier said than done, but think about it, have you seen a matte black RG around?
I love the black denim and pewter denim... The other colors are not my cup of tea.
I could not agree more. Those two colors look great. I am a fan of Exile bikes, with their flat black color. Simple and tough looking. The others just look unfinished (red and blue), IMO.
I have only good things to say about the pewter denim paint on my SG. Windex and wipe and go. I do watch out for scratches a little more with nothing to touch up the paint with. And I havenât seen the touch up paint, hey âBobberionâ Where did you find yours? It is a pleasure not having to worry about waxing, just wash and go.
That denim paint will scuff, smear and get all sorts of blemishes on it. It can't be helped and even the dealers try to sell that paint like that. They say, "It's just like your favorite pair of jeans, worn in the right places, bleached out in some. It gives the paint character"
Not for me [:'(]
