One of the first mods I did on the bike to make it different from all the other scoots out there. Easy to remove the old emblems and then used Goo-Gone to remove the sticky residue. The hard part was getting the new emblem brackets lined up properly by myself. Had to have the wife come out and keep telling me how it looked. Once I got them set I had to bend them to match the contour of the tank and then I was good to go.
I am actually thinking about changing mine again already to something else.
takes a lot of care getting emblems to look right and symetric from one side to the other. note that no many H-D emblems are parallel to the ground, most tilt to the rear slightly. it took me a long time to measure from several points to get mine to line up where they looked good. i see some that are "just stuck on" and look odd. enjoy!!
I like the retro looking one. Having the 03 anniv I dont think I will make any changes. Even after seeing thousands of other ones. I like that it has three levels to it.
Was it a pretty clean install? Can you see anything left over from the original?
Getting the stock one off was pretty clean with floss, Goo Gone and WD-40. No scratches. I rode without any for awhile before deciding on the retro look. Installed myself. Decided where I wanted it, put one side on and then eyeballed the other side. I looked at a lot of stock emblems and how they were positioned. The emblem is held onto a bracket that has double sided tape by two screws.
