Deadwood is an awesome place to stay. Tons of nightlife, bars, and casinos. If you don't want to sleep stay in Sturgis and one of the campgrounds (Buffalo Chip).
You will love it there. Tons of history there too.

Also.. make sure u ride Needles highway and Iron Mountain Hgwy while in the black hills and eat a hamburger at the SUGAR SHACK (in the hills) None better.. and Try a Buffalo burger (they can be found in many places within the Black Hills area...

make sure you ride vanaker(? spelling) canyon between rapid city and sturgis and spearfish canyon. also if you like authentic german food check the alpine inn in hill city. they serve german food for lunch.(11:00-2:00 pm)

Stayed in Deadwood and it was great. This was our first trip to Bike Week and will go back and stay in Deadwood again. Lots to do and see and everyone has a good time. We did all the rides but the Badlands and Devils Tower. Savin those for next year. Spearfish canyon and needles highway were our favorites.
