Had a Bustec, LOVED it. WE like having plenty of room for "things", works for us and thats all that matters. Do what works for you. I am most likely going to buy another Bushtec next year. Been there, done that. gonna do it again.

Just got back from a 17 day trip through 15 states and almost 4k miles. Was able pack everything we needed and then some. Wife got the tour pack, I got the tour pack bag and was even able to fit my laptop with everything else. The saddlebags were for the leathers, rain gears a few tools and sweatshirts(keeping the real weight down low) We packed enough for 5 days and did laundry twice at the hotels in the evening. Even had room for about 6 purchased t-shirts and a few other souvenirs. Mama is great about traveling on the bike, and has adapted very well over the years for the ong road trips. No trailer for me, but it is a personal choice.
My wife packs our clothes for the day (ie-Monday) in one 2.5 gallon freezer bag; I sit on it, take all the air out, seal it shut and it's thin enough to do a whole week in one saddle bag; shoes & rain gear in the other, and tour pak for jackets, caps, gloves, misc stuff you need to reach for in a hurry. Gone into Mexico for a week w/room to spare; always have the luggage rack for something extra.
Went to 6 days out this month and learned from a friend: the great way to get rid of all your old underwear. Save it up for the long trips. Thanks Smitty!
I've been thinkin' of investing in one but for now only if I could find a steal.Later in life I could stand to invest in a nice one but till then We'll pack light or maybe find a used one somewhere for a song.
No **** story here... Buddy of mine just sold me his 16x7 enclosed trailer that he bought for 5K three years ago. It holds 4 bikes and gear...pretty big I guess
Since then he put aAC unit, generator, patio awning, carpeting, a radio, batteries, etc etc.
I bought all of it for 3K!!!
