We have a 5x10 utility trailer that we use along with our large enclosed trailer. I have taken the 5x10 from NY to Deals Gap 2 times, to Sturgis and back and several shorter trips. I haul sport bikes and my Streetglide. Your trailer and truck should do fine for that distance. As far as negative comments about trailering - we have no choice because we carry goods for shows. Some people have tunnel vision. Don't let them bother you.

My wife has a 96 Avalon and we have pulled a Kendon with our EG on it from Northern Ca to Vegas, Or and WA several times... I have now sold that and just ordered a Wells Cargo - Road force - I plan to retire this year and we have plans to drive to several spots around the US and then ride - back in the trailer and find another spot... I also plan to us this device http://www.bikersgostrapless.com/ I have seen this and also talked to a custome bike builder in Fresno CA (Thunderstrike Motorcycles 14634 Highway 41, Madera, CA (559) 822-4220) who has used these for over a year - at first he would use a saftey strap but now - just the device... It makes loading a bike super easy...

Sounds like you should be fine. If you do have problems, that why you have insurance.

4x6 foldable trailer with 20" tires.

You should be fine with 5x10. Just check your wheel bearings from time to time.

My only concern would be the size of the tires on the trailer.
Why for such a light load?

12 inchers are usually rated at 1100lbs each. I have a '76 trailer with 12 inchers that has seen tens of thousands of interstate miles and never had a problem

The fat 10 inchers come rated up thru E. You can put a big load on them. I have a 1800lb Apache camper that has been all over the country riding on 10" C rated tires.

The main thing with smaller diameter tires is to keep them aired up correctly. Regardless of what size you have, be sure to have a good spare.

Ever notice that the small tired ones are usually the ones sitting on the side of the road? The small tires make the wheel bearings go about a "million miles an hour" and smokes the bearings.[]
Go with a larger size wheel and slow down the bearings and make sure they have been re-packed somewhat recently. You will be much happier.

Invest in a 2ton floor jack and a quality lug wrench for the trip.

We pull the RK all the time on a Harbor Freight 5x8 with 12" wheels all the time behind the RV when the wife wants a break from driving. I check the bearings regularly and make sure they are greased and that the tire preasure is good. I wouldnt hesitate.
