Default Need help finding a reference book...

Hey all,

As you can see from my post count, I am brand new here, though I have been checking out the forums for several days. Be patient with my ignorance, I am brand new to motorcycles.

Anyway, a few days ago I was searching around here for engine upgrades (specifically in size) as I may put on a side car and/or a trailer so I can take the whole family along. In one of the posts I read, someone referenced a book about how to tune and/or upgrade engines for torque and power, but for the life of me I don't remember the title, and now I can't find that post again, even using what I thought were the same search terms I used before. I think it had "power" in the title, but again, I am not sure. The context of the post was in response to someone wanting to install a 103" engine, and the poster with the book suggestion said, essentially, "get this book, and it will help show you how to tune and mod your 88 or 95 to reach 103 performance." I am also pretty sure it was under the Touring sub-forum, which is why I am posting this here. Can somebody tell me what that book is?

Hope this isn't a stupid question, but I have used all kinds of search terms I thought would get me back to that post, with no luck. I also searched Amazon.com, but did not recognize any titles there as the correct one.

There are many books on this issue, but I don't think one book will have all the answers, read around on this forum there are a lot of folks that can help and what they have to done to increase performance. You can put better pipes ,air cleaner, spark plugs and maybe even have it dynoed. Of course there are cams, head work and much more, like I said cruise around the forum and ask questions.

I have an 06 Street Glide, Have done the Stage 1 A/C, Vance & Hines Dresser Duels, Wild Pig slip-ons and added a PCIII. I pull a trailer a few times a year and the first time I had the above list except for the PCIII. I had enough power to pull the trailer with no problem. After adding the PCIII and a little fine tuning I have more than enough power to pull it. The PCIII made the biggest change in the power and how the bike runs.

With a little time and searching you can find more than enough good information here on the forum to get you where you want to be.

Welcome to a great forum.

Ride Safe,

Mike
