I use Roxio easy cd & dvd and get 110-130 songs on every disc. you are right you need to burn it as a data mp3 to get that much on there. Use a disc that is for music. I use memorex black cdr all use-music games data

A DVD can hold up to 4.7 GB of data, and possibly more depending on a bunch of factors. A CD holds around 0.8 GB of data. So, the DVD can and does hold multiples more data than a CD. If you burn the typical mix of MP3s to a DVD, you can get well over 1100 or 1200 songs on a single disc, depending upon the size of the individual MP3 files. On a CD, you will see around 100 to 120 songs, again depending on the size of theMP3 files you end-up transferring to the media.

Your player must be able to read DVDs (which is questionable on the HDs), but maybe you have something on your bike that will. Most home dvd players have no problems playing DVDs loaded with MP3 music through the TV speakers or through your stereo system if you have your DVD audio running through that system. The home unitsalso play CDs loaded with MP3 music.

If your HD CD player can recognize the mp3 format, I would try burning some mp3s to a CD and see how it handles the data as you are riding and especially when the upper play list songs are playing. The human ear can barely discern the difference between MP3 audio quality and original audio quality. There is a difference, but as someone else pointed out, the wind, road, and environmental noise we hear while riding our bikes ruin any real fidelity or good sound we can expect to hear (unless you have some really good headphones..and that may raise safety questions).

I've burned both DVDs and CDs with MP3 data. Personally, I have found that the DVD is just too many damn songs to deal with at any given time. The CDs will hold several hours of music, the blank media is cheaper, and itdoesn't take as long to burn the data since you are not burning so much at a time.

Hope this helps.

Have put over 200 songs on CDR's in MP3 format... Make sure you burn the CDR in the lowest speed (4-8)

as far as how many will fit on a cdr i have saved all my music in its highest quality...so i usually get no more that 100 songs...

my dvd;s usually see about 500 songs... i dont see it being read on the scoot... most car dvd players dont read the mp3 on dvd and the ones that do are very expensive, or cheap and freeze while trying to play back....

the new radios do play mp3 format on cdr.....

i agree too many songs on one dvd is a pain in da but to scroll through....im happy with the cdr's and 8 gig on my zumo mp3 player.....

The HK radio will not play MP3's burned to a DVD-R. I have tried it already.I typically rip my MP3's at 64kbs which allows me to fit over 200 songs on a CD-R. I am really not worried about having perfect sound quality on the bike. It really doesn't matter.

I have the lastest version of the ITunes and have tried 2 times to burn a CD in data with none working. Anyone Getting 100 songs on a CDR with the ITunes program. Or do I need some other type of burner software? Thanks Doc

I use iTunes and burn using the MP3 CD option not Data. Works everytime. I can get way more than 100 depending on the compression (loss) I set the MP3 conversion to.

Most times a 110 tune disc will run most of a day's ride.

As far as the loss of quality, yes it is there but my Harley ain't no concert hall either.
