Default 07 VS 08

Are the same issues present with the 08's as the 07's? I am seriously considering a 08 ultra. After reading about the 07 models, I am curious as what is up with the 08 models. Should I wait? Not trying to start any sheet, just want the facts. What is the IDS and is the tranny and heat issue resolved? Thanks.

Go for the 08. Much better bike. Still gives off some heat, but I don't hear any annoying noises.

I got a 07 but I would go with the 08 for the large tank, and the ABS. Not to say the sleeker look with the with with wiring in the bars for the throttle control. The ABS is worth it. I had a wing with ABS and the braking was much better than the HD. In my humble opinion any safety upgrade is worth looking at. The larger tank will push you down the road a little longer on those cross country trips and this 96 ci beast loves the gas station!

Local Harley shop service manager is trying real hard to sell his 07. Almost had me convenced because of the extra add-on chrome goodies. While working this out in my head considering savings, finance, etc. a few 07 owners came rolling in with discuss on their bike issues not being addressed... such as exhauset leaks, noises, hard shifting, run-away guages, etc.. Sounded like horror stories tome!.... I bought a new 08 for about 1500 fish more then he was asking. BTW the service manager still has the07 and still trying to sell... In a couple years he'll have better luck I'm sure.

Some improvements with the '08. IDS, brakes, ABS, larger tank. Apparently, there is heat issues with the '08 like the '07 although I haven't seen it on my '08. Regardless, it can be improved with a Stage I.

I have 4000 miles on my '08 and it continues to run flawless.

Have an 07 Ultra and love it. The most significant improvement is the ABS. Someday I will have a bike with ABS...it can save your bacon!

Yea, my dealer offered a lot of shiz to take the 07 but because i waited as long as i did to get one, i wanted the 08. Love the upgrades on the 08 and was happy to pay extra for them. Three letters for ya----IDS. Worth every penny. 6 gal tank is nice too.
