I did mine, you'll need the servicer manual. It's not really a big job, more like a whole bunch of small jobs.
Step by step with the manual, real easy with no special tools or skills.
Do it in the winter if you can and you won't need to rush.
Make that 2 smart asses! There is a search feature that will give him all the info that he needs about this topic and alot of others that he may have questions about. Obviously he didn't know this. So how I reply to his post is none of you damn buisness!
Use the Search function to look up "b*tch about useing the search" threads if that's what your looking for.
Depending on what ya want, any decent auto body shop can paint them. I did mine. If you schedule the job in advance, it's not unreasonable to expect to drop it off and pick it up in a day or two. Persnally, I would not waste $$$ on "another" inner fairing.... just take yours off & get it pianted.
Take a bunch of digital pics as you are disassembling things so you can refer back to them when ya put it back together if necessary.
Best answer.............this is what I did............awesome result
I agree with Phil,
When I had my bike painted the shop wanted 4 hours to take it off and put it on, I did it in about 1.5 hours with allot of Digital Pics and then put it back in about 1 hour using the photos to assit, another inner faring is nice to buy but only if you sell the old one and try to get your money back... Either way it has to come apart... Service Manual is our best friend for this
