I am 53 years old and started riding againg after a 30 year lay off. In August I purchased a new 2005 Sportster 1200C. My friends who have bikes told me I would grow out of it within a year. I still love it and have lots of fun on it. Here it comes. My wife and I went to a Harley dealer on Saterday and we saw a 1996 Ultra Classic with 16,000 miles for $11,000, it was in perfect condition. The next thing MY WIFE put a deposit on it. I was woundering what are pros and cons of that year bike. Thanks for your help.
There is nothing wrong with that bike. It's an EVO and not the TC88 but other than that....you should have no problem with it. I had a 1992 Softail Custom and it did not burn any oil, did not lean one drop and ran perfect with 63,000 miles on it when I sold it last year. That is a good price for a nice riding bike.
i went the same route started on a sporty, 1 year later i got a bagger. no regrets, except the sporty sits a lot now.
i have one with an evo motor. not a complaint, period
Congrats!! Looks like you may have an excellent deal there. Do ask the dealer to print out the maintenance records on the bike, though, so you can see what's been done. Then jump in with both feet, you'll love it! And a bigger congrats on the wife!! She's a keeper!
