Default Cyclepedic seats

Posted this question on the General section with no responses. Does anyone have experience with them? http://www.thepropad.com/p-26-road-k...seat-1997.aspx

Can't help as to experience. I ride the RK Standard but have been looking for a new seat. Lots of folks told me of their experience and I have sat on lots of bikes/seats. It seems the problem with the outfit you are asking about is that they are trying to make a one size fits all. For example, the pushed back seat fitting. I had to change my stock handle bars and change the heel shift bar, to make the bike fit better. I sure don't want to then buy a seat that allows me to slide further back. Most custom seat makers ask for your measurements and weight, which seems sensible. Some ask for photos of you on the bike.
Beyond this, I've heard lots of good things about the gel which some add to the seat.
Hope these comments help you consider further.

Before you spend hundreds on a new seat, look at Allen's shop. He goes by BadX, here on the forum. www.meancitycycles.com He will rework your seat based on your size, the size of any regular passenger, and what position you want to be in. I have read countless reviews of his work, and have not read a single complaint. That, in itself, says he does good work, IMO. I am going to buy a solo seat, for when it is just me, but I will be having Allen rework my stock seat this winter. You might want to check it out, and save a few pennies for some more 'safety chrome', LOL.
