rattle on deceleration
I have an 05 Road King Classic. I get a tinny rattle or vibration when I decelerate and it seems to be coming from the front forks-but I am not sure. Three people have tried to pinpoint the source and so far, no luck. The noice doesn't change when I take off the windscreen. The pipes seem to be attached solidly to the bike, so I don't think they are rattling. Has anyone else run into this problem? Any ideas?

Probably part of the headlamp nacelle - that little trim piece that runs along the center of the headlamp housing can vibrate at the back. Try to wiggle it - if it moves, you need to snug a piece of foam or something under it to dampen the vibration. I had the same problem, btw, with my RK.

Thanks for the tip. I have the detachable windscreen but the rattle happens whether I have the windscreenon or off.

Okay here is one for you to try. Check the timing cover. I had a rattle at 2k and no one could find it then I had it at the Dealer and a tech looked at it for a minute and touched the cover and Bammm It was not doing it anymore.. Go figure I out up with it for a good 3-4 months and could not finf it..
