Custom or Classic?
I'm new to Harley and I have been looking at the Road King Classic. Recently I came accross a Road King Custom. Really a cool look. So now I'm torn between the two. The big differences I can see are the cruise control and the full windshield on the Classic but not on the Custom. What other differences are there and how do the Custom owners out there like their bikes? Knowing what you do today would you buy a Custom again?
Thanks

The Classic also has white wall tires. I tell you this having the windshield is golden on cold days/nights plus the bugs around the lakes P.S I also think the bars are different more of a pulled back style on the custom
I have a custom with cruise added and quick detachable hardware for the windshield. Just added a Dragonfly detachable fairing that comes off in a couple of minutes. Would buy a custom again and this probably will be my last bike I buy. I believe 07 was the last year for Customs. Can't speak for the Classic but they are both cool. There are many threads on this forum talking about both. Good luck with your decision.

I had the same debate with myself. I was going to buy the classic when I fell in love with my Street Glide
Not much help I know.

You do get more for your money with a new Classic vs a new Custom. But, as has been said, 07 was the last year for the Custom. To me, the Custom is a cleaner and sharper looking bike that you can more easily make individually yours. Has not been mentioned but the Custom has mag wheels vs laced for the Classic and the Custom is also lower. The bar, lights and turn signals are also different. Both are fine HD bikes.
I recently bought a Classic. I liked the hard leather bags over the painted bags of the Custom. I also lucked into one that had wheels off of a Street Glide, which are more to my liking. Dealer said a guy came in and wanted the SG, but wanted whitewalls and laced wheels, so they did the swap, which left them with the Classic to put the blackwalls and mag wheels on. I thought it looked more like the Screaming Eagle Road King, which is what I would have liked to bought, but I didn;t like the 29,000 dollar price tag. My RKC is an '08, and it is black.
I bought a Custom because I prefer thelack of fender trim.. I don't care for the lights on the fenders or the styling of the Classics bags..
I did like the leather bags that came with my custom (which I still have) but opted to add the hard bags... I also added CC and detachable windshield... And I kindalike the solo headlight...Even if I could afford another bike I would never get rid of my Custom...
