That's a great tip about not pulling out the dipstick. I want to install one this winter and was going to warm up the bike and dump the oil. Change the plug to the sender unit with the dipstick in and a cold engine should work just fine!

IOt IS a McEwan....had mine 8 months...the install is so simple a ten year old can do it...no special tools, no wiring (it's already there) and easy, easy instruction sheet.

Thanks for the info posted on here about the oil temp gauge. I just ordered two of them for a friend and myself. I will be ordering a third one tomorrow for another friend I told about them. Thats the good thing about this forum, plenty of useful info at the touch of a finger.
