Default Does not always start

OK, I have searched and found nothing related to what is happening to me and my 2007 Road Glide. I walk up to my bike(with security fob in pocket) and do my usual start-up routine;
Ignition switch to run
Run/Stop button to ON
Wait for engine light to go out
Pull clutch
Press starter button

4 times now, the bike does nothing after pressing start button. Flipping the Run/Stop switch will not do anything either. I have to shut it all back down and start over and it has started, so far.

Anyone else?? [sm=confused06.gif]

So you've got power, right, since the engine light comes on then goes out. Can you hear the fuel pump cycle on and off? Does it always start the second time? What's your bike's config, i.e. any PCIII in the loop?

Get out! I tell that piece to my VTXOA board members, and I didn't try the battery connections

I'll look at the battery tomorrow, thanks.

Yes, there is a PC3 in the mix, for now. That also had my rear o2 sensor throw a check engine code as well. But the not starting happened before, it's just happening more frequently now.

Taterdog; yes the fuel pump primes and it just does nothing when the button is hit to start. Kelly's Heroes is also one of my favorite movies!! Don't make me come down there Booker!!

Hey Spike, I too have the very same problem with my 2007 ultra. When it does this I hear a clicking under the seat when I press the start button. Sounds like a relay not energizing all the way. Once I cycle the ignition switch off and then back on it will start. I did check all battery/fuse/relay connections but all was ok. I took it to the dealer for the 1K service and had them look into this problem, but of course they couldnt find anything wrong. It's done this to me a few more times since then. I'm afraid it will get to the point of leaving me stranded one day and I dont feel like pushing 900lbs around. I think I'll take it to another dealer to check it out cause i'm not very happy wth the service from the one I bought it at.

Same issue with my '07 Ultra on three separate occasions. There was no clicking noise from the relay when a start was attempted (when it failed to start). I suspected the ignition switch position/cleanliness and had the Dealer look at the switch. Cleaned contacts and replaced...works fine so far.

No clicking here either, as I thought it may be a relay. I'm going to the dealer to get some heated grips installed next wek. I'll have them look at this issue too, after I take a poke around

Mine has done that several times. I troubleshot it down to the starter solenoid. When this happens I tap the solenoid on the starter with the handle end of my HD screwdriver and the dang thing starts up. I will take it in one of these days for a warranty fix. Hope this helps.
