[QUOTE=Hogwallop;2343569]I don't understand why they canned the Custom either. I think it really fills a niche market and glad I got mine before it was discontinued. I know that the Classic is close, but to reconfigure to the Custom look would require BIG bucks.
You got that right my friend !!! By March 2007 there wasn't a custom to be found I looked for one High and Low. Out of desperation I took a R K classic
and tryed to build a custom out of it, but I ran out of money before I got finished. You custom owners are a lucky bunch of men
hi,
We get even less chance here in the UK to get hold of a custom!
Here's mine;
Sundowner solo
Memphis batwing (no need to remove the narcelle thingy)
loads of bits
True duals going on tomorrow !
Ill bring this thread back. I just picked up a 2005 with 29,000 miles. It came with chrome fork legs and sg exhaust. Everything else is stock. I just ordered some heritage bars and hd engine guard. The stock bars were killing my lower back. I will end up some 16 apes and custom wheels. I just need to get the funds in order. I am really happy the bike and most importantly the boss likes it too. Ben
An RKC in this same color graced the cover of the HD model catalogue in 04. I saw it and it was love at first sight. Picked mine up in 04 and never looked back - I still like looking at it when it's parked. Love it!
I had an 05, sold it, missed it, and bought an 04 same color, etc. I think the Street Glide probably did the custom in. Same essential bike, except with hard-bags, and fairing. Lots of people it appears (me included) add hard bags to the Custom. With the SG on the market, people could cut right to the chase. Plus, the SG comes with a fairing, radio, cruise (?), all stuff's that lots of guys prefer and that's add-on for the Custom. Even so, I love my Custom, and am never getting rid of it (again)... ;-)
