I'm looking into buying an Ultra Classic in the next year or so. I am curious as to how long (how many miles) can one expect to get out of a twin cam engine. Since I am lookingat the used bikes I am curious as to how many miles is "too many" miles on a touring bike?
Thanks
E.

All depends on how well the bike was maintained. Impossible to know for sure with a used bike. The "Twinkie" is the most reliable V-Twin from the MoCo to date. I know many riders who have over 80,000 on their bikes and still going strong. Once the time comes to rebuild, the choices of build-up kits are many. Harley engines remind me of old aircraft radial engines. Infinately rebuildable.

look for 100k if serviced properly and ridden properly. There have been cases of 300k plus.
