Went to my dealer two weeks ago wanting Anniversary UG basic, no frills. Had to make a deposit on one that was due in at the end of October. Had a new salesman that wanted to charge me for security set up, ABS and some other items. Told him the only thing I should have to pay for would be his setup/destination charge. Have a BOS including TTL. Salesman calls yesterday giving me good news that one came in a few days ago that the customer cancelled so it is mine. Also stated that there were some other small charges that he was unaware of to the tune of $500. I didnt have my paperwork in front of me. Going in this evening to pick it up possibly. Question is do you guys think they are legitimate charges? What could they be? First brand new hog, previous bikes were purchased used. Thanks for suggestions.
From what I've studied, all Anni Ultra's are comming out of the factory the same! Brakes and all, Security system ABS etc.. and numbered of course... Dealership my have put extra stuff on that the previous customer wanted and now trying to get you to cover the difference!
Do you want a anny. model or a basic ultra? Anny model only comes one way, copper/black paint with abs standard. Other ultras come with different colors and abs is optional. Dealers in ga. are still asking over msrp for anny. models and most dealers charge a dealer fee, mine gets 399.00 on every bike.
My dealer is an MSRP dealer...anneversary or other wise MSRP. No shipping, No setup, Free 1000 mile check and 2 hours free labor on any bling you wnat installed if bought fromn them.
The '08 Ultra Anniversary comes with ABS and the Security System Option as part of the $23,270 MSRP. There was some confusion at the dealership when I purchased mine and they had to re do the paperwork when I pointed out they were overcharging me. You should not pay anymore than the MSRP + freight and setup. I would call the dealer before you go over and have them detail what the $500 is for and if it is a valid charge. You are more susceptible to accepting these charges, if they are not warranted,if you are at the dealership.
Below is my breakdown of how the pricing of how an Anniversary Ultra compares to a standard two tone version. I figure you are paying $465 more for the Anniversary based upon MSRP.
$23,270 105th Anniversary Ultra
-$795 ABS
-$345 Security System Option
$22,130105th Ultraw/o ABS & Security System Option
-$21,665 Standard Two Tone Ultra w/o ABS & Security System Option
$465 Net Difference for the 105th AnniversaryPaint / Badging
Sales are off for Harley right now. There is no reason at all to pay anything more than MSRP plus TTL. Dealer charges such as "prep" are BS as is the destination charges. At MSRP they are already making enough. I bought my '07 this past January for MSRP plus TTL and it included the 1k service and some extra's like riders backrest and the luggage rack on the tourpak.
