Just ordered my J&S Jack today. It will be shipped out on Monday. I hope I made the right choice.
Just to let you guys know. J&S no longer gives discounts on their jacks due to the increase of cost for steel and transportation. I even tried to get a small group discount for the guys at work. No dice, we ended up buying two.
Customer service was top notch thus far. Warranty forever. They will even take it back if it does not work for my application.
I would say you made the right choice after the research I did.
I have the $50 sears jack which worked great on my C90. I tried it out on my UC and did not like it at all.
My UC has a rear crossbrace that is about 1 7/8 inch wide at it's narrowest point. The sears is about 2 1/2 wide so it will not fit inside the brace. The sears jack does not go low enough to fit under the bike unless I compress it with 2 screw drivers or would have to put boards under kickstand. The sears is only about 12 inches from lift pad to lift pad. So I jacked it up and the front tire was off the ground 2 inches before the rear tire was coming off.
That was all I need to see.
The J&S is bulit with 1 3/4 lifting pads, will go low enough and is 15 inches from pad to pad. So it should lift it at the very back and at the very front and lift it evenly. This will be my choice when I can afford it.
There is a choice of wheels also.... Steel or the bowling ball material.. Mine is the bowling ball material and works smooth as silk on just about all surfaces....... cept grass and gravel..Huu
The decal they send looks great on your tool box also
Doug
I was not aware of the choice of wheels. We'll see what they give me.
I'll give my review once I get it.
By default, you will receive the wheels made of hard ruberized plastic... Like bowling ***** are made of.. It's there newest wheels being used and you won't be sorry that they are that product.
You won't be disappointed. I got mine several weeks ago. It is rock solid with no tie downs. I can roll it around the garage floor and crank on bolts without worrying about instability.
