I have a 07 FLHTCU with the 103" 255 cams. I installed the Thundermax. They sent me a map that would help. It runs GREAT, but........with high power settings it still pings a bit. I really have to get on it to do it though. I sent an email to Zippers, and Pete informed me that the 255 cams are a problem. He said the compression ratio is 9.8:1 static. He said to use their red shift 575 cams. My question is; has anyone else experienced this.
I have the 575S cams in my 07 SG. I have the DTT/WEGO IID with RHTD`s and the SE-A/C
I had spark knock at 2300 to 3000 RPM`s. I did some timing table adjustments and changed the horsepower setting within the DTT basesettings.
This has corrected my spark knock issue. Now I`m running the auto-tune to get my AFR set.
Runs really good with this setup.
Tape your throttle and mark it with 75 - 50 - 25 - 12 and 0 percent increments. ride it and take note of the throttle setting and RPM`s. Go into the T-Max timingtable and adjust it down 4 degrees in those areas. Re-Test until you have it corrected and then bump it up 2 degrees and re-test again. Make sure you get itinto actual running temps. This should correct the problem without changing cams. JM 0.02$ Hope this helps.
