Paint or Engine Work ?
Buddy of mine is wanting some opinions on getting work done on his bike over the winter. He's got an EG Classic 06 with a Stage one done. His riding style is "cruising" and rides 50/50 split of one up and two up with his better half. He's got around $5k to spend over the winter and is contemplating either engine work (95 or 98") OR getting a custom paint job done on the bike.
He's basically happy with the bike as is except he'd like a bit more grunt in the engine and he is not a hot rodder. He's been on a few trips and between the crap they pack and the two of them on the bike, there's not a whole lot there in the low end torque dept. He's running Samson duals I believe. On the flip side while he likes the vivid black color, he's tired of his bike looking like every other HD on the road and wants to stand out from the crowd and would like to get some paint work done. I gave him my opinion and told him I'd post a poll here and see what yall think. His other half thinks when you look at a custom paint job, you can "see the $5K" and when you look at a bike with $5K in engine work, ya can't see a damn thing lol. So the question is, is it better to look good or feel good ? I told him to do both lol...and his reply was "I'd end up in divorce court", be broke and have nothing done to the bike.

There is a guy that lives in Albuquerque. Danny Bally. He does some amazing work. I saw one he did at a rally. he said it cost $2600, and it had the most detailed work I have seen in person. A buddy of mine who has a couple of high dollar customs said that his work would cost $7-$10k in Vegas, where he use to live. So, for $2600, that would leave your buddy another $2400 for engine work. The best of both worlds, IMO.
BTW, tell your buddy I wish I had that decision to make. [:@]

Hey Papa... that sounds almost too good to be true lol... I am going to pass along the information. Hell he could do a 95" kit with a 26G cam without any headwork for around $2500 or so.
Thanks..
