I've found it varies some with temp changes etc. I check mine at least every 2 weeks and before and longer trips. I keep the HD pump in the side bag so it is easy to check often.
Im riding ultras since 1993 (5 of em).. HD air shocks are junk,,,All have leaked air and oil at one time or another . Many riders replace with "non-air" shocks.. u will learn to live with this issue.. HD knows of the problem they dont care to fix. I will only buy American made motorcycles.. (allthough I think the shocks are japanese)
After a bit of a problem I bought the Harley shock air pump. Wash weekly and check weekly. Usually down a couple lbs. That tubing is frail and if you are loosing more then 1-2 lbs a week I would have dealer check it.

I have just aired them up again to 15 lbs so will see when they go down again. I do have the shock pump from HD and I check it after I air them up and they still show 15 so the pump is not letting the air out. I pick my bike up tomorrow I am going to bring my pump with me and check them at the dealer and if they are down in 2 days then they are going to check them for me and hopefully not tell me that is normal. Because they should not loose air in 2 days IMO.
