I think I want to add Ultra lowers to my Classic. I already have the rear speakerpods with the addtl amp and speakers and I want hard lowers for the upcoming winter here in PA. Today I changed all three fluids and 2 exhaust crush gaskets (75.00 in parts)(What a freakin pain in the *** without a lift!!)after spemding 300 bucks yesterday for a new rear tire and brakes so money is a big factor here right now. HD Synthetic and Belray fluids plus chrome filter. Anywho I found a nice non vented set with gloveboxes for like 300. they are Black and so is my bike but paint is not an issue-Got a lot of bodyshop friends here. Is 300 about right for clean used Non vented with Hdware, capsand gloveboxes?? The Ebay new ones start at 95.00 but by the time you add caps and Hdwr and boxes your well over the 300 right??
You could buy brand new, vented (hardware and glove boxes included) lowers (HD part no. 58854-05, primed) for 20% off list price of $395 from Zanotti's/Chicago HD and have your painter friends shoot them for you. Not $300, but they'd be brand new, vented, etc.
WHEW that was close. Almost spent 300 bucks on someones used stuff whenI just ordered the new ventedones for 316 plus 17 dollars shipping from Chicago HD. Thanks a lot PINGMAN. Now I cant wait until they get here !!!
I just bought the vented lowers primed over the summer and had a friend paint them, they are nice especially on a long ride or now in the cold up here in the northeast. From Chicago HD took about 2 weeks.
