Had my fairing mirrors removed today during an oil temp guage install. Went to Lowes and they have the matching hole covers. $2.20 later and I was done. Check it out.

I'm removing mine 'cuz with my new handlebars, all I can see are my fists. Either going to handlebar-mounted or the new Kury windshield-mounted mirrors.

What are the plugs from Lowe's?

Check with the H-D dealer, they have little black plastic plugs. Tell them they are the plugs in the frame on a touring bikeabove the floorboard mount.
