I have a 1999 electra glide EFI and within a year I want to upgrade to 124" . I just purchased bike with 18000 miles and is all stock and right now I want to add Bassani dual exhaust and was wondering what kind of fuel management is best for me. I really don't want to add a new air cleaner til I upgrade to 124. Also, would like advice on what would be the best way to make the change. What is the best route to get to a nice set up with 124" and it must have the dual bassani exhaust. Not concerned with max. horsepower since 124 will have plenty. Thank you!!!
The first question is how are you going to get the 124 cubes? Are you going to get a S&S motor & just drop it in? Probably the easiest and cheapest way in a long run. I found a brand new polished S&S w/title and polished tranny case with a brand new 6/speed spike for $6k + I had to get it delivered. The guy screwed me out of the carb that I purchased, however. as far as EFI, call zippers for around $1,600 plug & play. For carb, I am going with a Mikuni carburetor HSR48 carb kit. You can get them for around $400 + manifold & air cleaner. You can also get the Super G. Hope this helps. By the way you can either sell or keep your old motor & trand and re-install it when selling the bike. You will need a clutch also. I bought dual bassani exhaust
I planned on using s&s 124 hot set up with scorpion clutch. How do you like your exhaust would like to hear before I purchase. Don't see any around here. Not sure about fuel programmer can't find maps for bassani's.
Nice quality and Bassani are really nice fokes. Ask shooter64 for a price as he has a real good rep. from my friends who know him. I can tell you the Bassani people treat each and every customer who bought from their venders very well & take care of all those little problems that crop up in any business.
I manufacture my own products and do handle some convince oriented products built from other mfgâs. I do not wish to become a retailer, leave that to the professionals. When telling you this is a good choice, I am giving you the real deal as I do not want your money. You can take that advice for what it is worth.

In Pardeeville, Wisconsin, you are right down the road from Madison & Rockford. I am sure you can find someone there. The Zippers kit has self-tuning as well as others available. Ask & you shall receive.
I'm in the process of doing a S&S 124" hot setup kit w/ closed-loop injection, primo brute IV belt drive, 6 spd baker and thunderheader 2-into-1 exhaust.............the motor is done, just waiting on the belt drive!
If you are going with a S&S 124 crate motor, then go with S&S VFI Closed Loop fuel injection. I'd strongly suggest the S&S Single bore throttle body. The map from S&S would get you up and running and you'll never need to go to a tuner. I was going to go with Zipper's Thundermax, but they only have maps for 120s, no S&S 124s.
I currently run a 1999 Road King with S&S 116" setup and VFI. I have the upgraded closed loop system but haven't installed it yet. I'm in the process of building a custom bagger. I have purchased the 124 I described above for that price.
Retail, with VFI, black and chrome is probably around 9500. Someone like Wally's Cycle World can probably safe you quite a bit.
Above, one of the posters said he got a new 124" S&S and 6 speed trans for $6k. My guess is it was an evo, not a twincam.
The S&S 124" motor is perfect bagger motor.Their IST ignition is also hard to beat.Mine has a modified S&S G with A ThunderJet.True Duals with Kromewerks HP 100 mufflers that were desighned for a 124" motor. They look and sound fantastic, not to mention the torque they deliver.Good Luck
